MASTERS + VETS + SUPER VETS INTERASSOCIATION

Masters, Veterans, Super Vets program is aimed at players over 35 years old motivated to represent and compete for Waikato at regional and national events. Being part of these Representative teams can also be fun, inspiring and motivating as you are immersed in the game with like-minded players. These events will give you an opportunity to play against some of the best players in New Zealand.

Waikato Badminton currently has one Masters Division teams, two Vets teams and one Super Vets team in the Badminton New Zealand Inter-Association competition. All nominating players are required to attend trials, unless permission has been granted by the selectors.


2026 Masters / Vets / Super Vets Interassociation Teams

  • Trial Infromation:
      • Trials will be on Sunday 12th April AND Sunday 19th April - 6.00 - 8.00pm, courts 6 - 10

      • We are selecting 4 teams this year

        • Masters Team - will compete in Masters Division 1 Competition

        • Vets 1 Team - will compete in Vets Division 1 Competition
        • Vets 2 Team -  will compete in Vets Division 2 or 3 Competition
        • Super Vets Team - will compete in Vets Division 1 Competition


    • Team Trainings:
      • ​​​​​​​Training will start on 26th April  to 3rd September - 6.00 to 8.00pm, courts 6-10

    *Master Teams:

    •  1st tie - 16th May - Locations TBC
    •  2nd tie - 13th June- Locations TBC
    •  3rd tie - 8th August- Locations TBC

    *Vets Teams: 

    •  1st tie - 23th May - Locations TBC
    •  2nd tie - 11th July- Locations TBC
    •  3rd tie - 29th August- Locations TBC

    *Supervets Teams:

    •  1st tie - 27th June - Locations TBC
    •  2nd tie - 25th July- Locations TBC
    •  3rd tie - 5th September- Locations TBC


    • Costs:
      • Playing in 1 team across all age groups - $265.00 per player
      • Playing in 2 team across all age groups - $280.00 per player

      • *please note: there has been increases in shuttle costs for 2026

      • Costs cover: BNZ team entry, court trainings, shuttle costs for trainings and ties
      • Costs to purchase a Waikato Red Shirt will be additional – $50 each or $55 with a named shirt
