Junior Programme Overview

• Please attend the trials on 1st February - 11am - 1.00pm

• Trainings:
  

  • Monday afternoons - 4.00 - 5.30pm - Courts 6 - 10 
    

  • Wednesday afternoons - 4.00 - 5.30pm - Courts 6 - 10
    

  • We ask you turn up ready to start your warm-up at 4.00pm

  • Trainings will start on 16th February 2026.
    

• Programme will run from Febraury through to September - Terms 1, 2 and 3
• Off-court opportunities for this year for this group are:

  • Offer to attend athlete workshops across the year

  • Open to being selected for the NZJTC heading to Palmerston North in the term 2 holidays

• Costs for this programme are: $900 per player
  • ​​​​​​​Increased cost for 2026 due to the increased cost in shuttle prices
    

• Please attend the trials on 31st  January or 14th February if you are wanting to be apart of this training group for 2026 - you must attend at least one of the sessions.

• Trainings will be:

  • Group A will train on Tuesday and Friday afternoons - 4.00 - 5.30pm on Courts 6 - 10

  • Group B will train on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons - 4.00 - 5.30pm - Tuesday on Courts 1 - 5 and Thursdays on Courts 6 - 10

  • Group C will train on Thursdays and Friday afternoons - 4.00 - 5.30pm on Courts 1 - 5 

  • We ask you turn up ready to start your warm-up at 4.00pm

•  Costs for this programme are: $850 per player

  • ​​​​​​​Increased costs due to the addition of new shuttles into the programme and the increased cost of them
    

• The programme runs from February to September (Terms 1 – 3)

• Trainings will start on 17th February 2026.

• Off-court opportunities for this year for this group are:

  • Offer to attend athlete workshops across the year

  • Open to being selected for the NZJTC heading to Palmerston North in the term 2 holidays

• You can choose the day you would like to train on and how many days you would like your child to train each week.
  

• Each session will be broken into age groups, so players are working with their own peers and learning skill sets.

Options are:

1. Mondays – 4.00 – 5.30pm at Waikato Badminton - on Courts 1 to 5

2. Wednesdays – 4.00 – 5.30pm at Waikato Badminton - on Courts 1 to 5 

• Costs for this group are dependent on how many training sessions per week

  • 1 training session per week - $150 for the term

  • 2 training sessions per week - $250 for the term

  • Trainings will start the week of 16th February 2026.

• This programme will run term by term and WBA will send you the registration link for the following term

• For ages 6 - 15 years old 

• Bring along your lunch, drink bottle, snacks, badminton gear, shoes and your energy

• We have rackets if you are needing to borrow one
